The Tulsa Regional Chamber and Tulsa Public Schools will host a Partners In Education forum on school security and safety on Thursday.
The forum will feature Tulsa Public Schools Police Chief Gary Rudick and Ident-a-kid CEO Rick Hagen.
Rudick, who was recently selected to the State Commission of School Safety, will share current TPS procedures to ensure student safety. Rudick will also address recent discussion among Oklahoma legislators who are considering arming teachers with guns.
Hagen will share information about Ident-a-kid, a security measure currently implemented in 25 of the 74 TPS school sites. Ident-a-kid scans driver’s licenses to flag hazardous visitors and each guest is issued photo name badges for identification.
The forum will be held on February 14th from 8-9:30 a.m. at OSU in Tulsa, 700 N. Greenwood, in room 150.
This event is free to attend and open to the public. Please RSVP to Joanna Slyter, program coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 918.560.0276.
The forum will be informal and include time for questions.
