TPS Summer Cafe' Program Feeds Thousands

Tulsa Public Schools is seeing more students take advantage of their Summer Café’ program.

It give kids 18 and under nutritious meals free of charge during the summer months. It’s a federally funded program available at 70 sites throughout Tulsa.

During the school year, 84% depend on free or reduced price meals, so it helps a lot of kids during the summer that may otherwise go hungry. Eleven thousand meals are sent out daily to different sites.

Kids can get a free prepared breakfast every morning and get a fresh lunch five days a week. The program runs from May 29 to August 10.
