Tulsa- The school board will vote on requiring all middle and elementary students to wear uniforms at a special meeting Thursday night.
Originally superintendent, Doctor Keith Ballard wanted to include high school students in the requirement. But then, he says he got lots of negative emails from parents and students and changed his mind. Now he wants to get more feedback and consider the issue again next year.
It was earlier this month when the district's safety task forces said uniforms would remove many school distractions and Doctor Ballard agreed.
Right now, 32 TPS elementary schools, 15 middle schools, and 3 high schools already wear uniforms. These high schools would continue to wear uniforms despite tonight's vote.
That meeting happening at 6 at Eisenhower Elementary right next door to the Education Service Center.
