The Tulsa Police Department along with assistance from the Tulsa Police Reserves is preparing to implement the Safe Shopper Program.
Starting on Black Friday, officers from Riverside Division will be patrolling the major shopping centers at 41st and Yale, 21st and Yale, Tulsa Hills and 96th and Delaware.
While on patrol, officers meet with the public and are able to be a positive force in crime prevention and education.
In addition, officers will focus on patrolling the shopping areas, monitoring parking lots and assisting on-duty officers with patrol calls in the shopping centers.
Last year officers working the Safe Shopper Program in the Riverside Division area handled a large number of calls for service and assisted on many traffic collisions on the nearby streets and parking lots of the shopping areas.
