The Oklahoma Incident Management Team requested the Tulsa Police Department’s Disaster Area Response Team to assist after the devastating tornado ripped through Moore.

The DART team will work on the management of the incident command center. The team will identify specific needs at the scene in order to make requests to Federal and State agencies for assistance.

“The team will be on site for at least two days but their resources will be readily available for as long as they are needed,” Police Chief Chuck Jordan said “We will provide any and all requested resources to the city of Moore and surrounding communities that were affected.”

The incident command center in Moore is asking for first responders and volunteers to not “self-dispatch” to the area. The command center will send out requests for first responders as soon as the need arises.
