The remaining school supplies from TFD and City Council drive will go to TSAS students.

Councilor Karen Gilbert and Fire Chief Ray Driskell, along with Tulsa Public Schools, have decided to donate the remaining school supplies from their August drive to students at the Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences.

Gilbert said the school supplies collected for the drive were “first come, first serve” and many of the participating middle and high schools took only what they felt they needed for their students.

TSAS is a charter high school sponsored by Tulsa Public Schools that has about 300 currently enrolled students. It was badly damaged in a fire early Wednesday morning.

The school supplies will be delivered at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, to Sequoyah Elementary School, North Indianapolis and Archer.

Yay Ray :-) He's a good old fashioned stand up kind of guy. He was posing as a stranded motorist when I bumped into him once on my bicycle. This accident will shine as an ugly mar blemishing the beginning of his career as Fire Chief. You got eight men in a building breathing oxygen it's for sure they won't smell the gas. There are however meters that should be worn that react with a visual and an audible signal for gas. Be nice to have a few of those.
