Tulsa police said the father of a murder suspect helped turn his son in to police.
On Sunday afternoon, police said 45-year-old Alonzo Stewart was shot several times and killed in his northwest Tulsa driveway.
Police said 23-year-old Reginald Ward shot him. The two knew each other and Ward lived nearby Stewart. Ward's father called police and convinced his son to tell police what he did to Stewart.
Tulsa police released a statement:
"Mr. Ward’s parent needs to be commended for gaining control of the situation and convincing Mr. Ward to do the right thing. The focus of this investigation was on Mr. Ward immediately and Mr. Ward’ s father allowed the investigation to culminate in the quick arrest of Mr. Ward."
Tulsa police are still searching for information about three murders earlier this year. Call Crime Stoppers if you can help them at 918-596-COPS.
