Tulsa deputies break open an operation spanning multiple states, involving stolen identities used to open credit cards and make fraudulent charges.

"He's a thief, there is no doubt about it. He's a thief," said Major Tom Huckeby.

Deputies in an undercover operation stopped a man and a woman and found several stolen identifications from Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Violent Crimes Task Force has been investigating Rahamanh Katumbsi, 38, of Sacramento, and Donmetra Sherman, 24, of Tulsa, for several months.

Underground rap producer Big Roc told the world on YouTube he'd been to Tulsa.

"I just got back from Tulsa, Oklahoma,” he said.

It appears the video was posted in 2008 out of Sacramento.

Detective said the video is just one connection that links the rapper to Tulsa and the identity theft ring that has been operating for at least seven to ten months.

"Rents a car and disappears and stays under the radar until now," said Huckeby.

Thursday, when the Tulsa Sheriff's County Violent Crimes Task Force received information and stopped Big Roc and Sherman they executed a search warrant on the car and found several stolen identifications from other states. The ID would have Sherman's picture but not her information.

"Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida. He’s been in Texas quite a bit," said Huckeby. "There is no telling. He’s been all over the country."

Detectives said Big Roc would use woman like Sherman and drive them to department stores to open credit card accounts under stolen identities.

"When they are done he says, ‘Bring the credit report to me. Here is what I am going to do with it. Go in, buy $300 worth of Kohl’s gift cards and go into Lowe’s. We are going to get $3,000 worth of power tools,’” said Huckeby.

One victim in Pennsylvania told detectives accounts from Target, Bass Pro, JC Penney and Best Buy along with several smartphones were opened in her name.

Detectives believe Big Roc is smart but he is just one of many thieves in a web of lies.

"Absolutely he is working for someone else," said Huckeby.

Investigators do not know how far up this operation goes and the FBI is now joining the investigation.
