Suspect arrested in home invasion, hostage situation

Police arrested one of the suspects in a dangerous home invasion.

Dustin Sanders, 19, is being held on armed robbery, kidnapping and stolen property charges. On Friday morning, police said Sanders and another suspect held a woman and her granddaughter hostage and then forced them to drive to a bank and cash the victim’s check.

Detectives said the suspects dropped of the victims unharmed and stole the grandmothers SUV. That vehicle was later found abandoned at a Taco Bell near 51^st and Yale.

Police are still searching for the second suspect.
