FOX23 obtained exclusive surveillance video Sundayof the Family Dollar near 11th and Utica Avenue Saturday night. Police said two men seen walking into the store in the surveillance video Saturday night robbed the store.

The video showed one of the suspects holding a gun to the clerk and forced her on the ground while he stole about money from the register and safe. Police said the suspects stole about $1,100 from the store.

Detective Mark Sole said they responded very quickly to the call they received around 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Sole said, “There was actually an officer in front of the store driving by when they were dispatching the call out.”

Police said that quick response helped lead them to an arrest. Their investigation led them to Michael Thomas at a bar across the street from the store. Police arrested Thomas and booked him in the Tulsa County Jail Saturday night.

Only FOX23 was there as detectives climbed into a nearby dumpster to recover a gun. A detective also collected pennies and other coins scattered on the road as evidence.

Sole said, “One of our K-9 officers was out here last night assisting with the investigation and was working today and came back out and was helping us walk through the area and found it (a gun) located in a nearby dumpster.”

Police said Thomas's girlfriend identified him by his clothing in the surveillance video.

Detectives told FOX23’s Price McKeon the investigation is still ongoing and a second arrest has not been made.

Hoodies !!! In August ??? That should be the first sign that somethings wrong!!! Glad the clerk is ok and it's good that the K9 officer was able to do his job so well. This oleG got him a ride on down to p ris on. He gets out and can't be employed becaus of his checkered past and goes on the dole supplementing his income with whatever he can steal from anybody's yard. Here's hoping that he could do better in the futurehave a job that will keep him buisy enough so he won't have to be sorry enough to scare the pee waddin outta one poor young girl who is just trying to feed her baby and work her way through college. Syonara dumb scum bucket.
