I understand what he was going for, he was just saying that the only times things get done quickly concerning gun control is when somebody ends up getting hurt by it, he wasnt saying to go shoot democrats, im sure you could look up some of the similar things that democrats said about republicans both parties put their foot in their mouth now and then, get a apology and get over it, i actually heard this one democrat talking about you would have to know where to put the plastique a bridge and using it as a expression, its nothing worst than anything the democrats said get over it

Steve in Tulsa and several others, Thank goodness that you have brought common sense to the discussion. There has been a great deal of vitriol from the Dems, and many Conservatives have had enough. Things have become more divisive and serious under the current leadership in the White House. It takes leadership to quell discourse, and the emotions in the Country these days is a clear sign of poor leadership. I, myself, have not forgotten the threats and blame that overshadowed the Bush administration, and still continues.

Maxine Waters just called all republicans 'Demons'. The OWS protestors, who are owned by the democrats, have called for an armed assault on republicans. Perhaps if the democrats would stop promoting violence then people would not feel a need to answer in kind.

He did nothing wrong. Poor job of reporting Fox 23. What about the OWS leader saying they should take up arms and charge the capital in D.C. Stick to your guns Mr. Sullivan. Whoops I said guns!

I agree with Itphilpot's comments, 100%. Taking only a sentence or two out of context, just to create a story, does not imply that Congressman John Sullivan was speaking in literal terms that he wanted to inflict harm on anyone. If a person or even a news organization is going to withhold part of Congressman Sullivan's comments from the meeting, then they are asked to hold their tongues. I thought news organizations were supposed to provide unbiased reports. As I mentioned before, if a person or news group is going to only quote a sentence or two, then he or she needs to do the public a favor and stay quiet. Were you there? Did you hear all he had to say? Or are you simply choosing to focus on a few words that a person states, instead of listening to the 'whole' speech. I close with this simple piece of advice, "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!" - John 8:7 (New Living Translation, 2007)

You cannot make points like this anymore, people are crazy these days and may accept the comments like this, as a challenge. Our Representives need to watch how they word and make there "points." and I believe he needs to step down. It is never acceptable reference killing to get what you want.

So what's the big deal? He was trying to make a point, he wasn't be serious. It's not like he called the conservatives terrorist, or told them to go straight to hell like certain Dems have said, he was essentially saying that nothing, not even the threat of death would make them stop being obstructionist little jerks!
