A street rehabilitation project will begin Monday at the intersection of East 11th Street and South Yale Avenue.
Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction during the construction, which is scheduled for completion in September.
Vision 2025 Route 66 enhancements also are part of this project. These include Route 66 shields in the pavement, brick paver sidewalks on the corners, decorative fencing at the northeast and northwest corners of the intersection, a centennial clock and plaques commemorating the history of Route 66.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Crossland Heavy Contractors for this $2.9 million project, which also includes a nearby neighborhood street and intersection. Funding for this project has come from the Vision 2025 Sales Tax and the 2008 General Obligation Bond Issue.
