A report from the journal, ‘Geology,” linked the earthquake from November of 2011 to oil exploration in Lincoln County. The quake damaged 200 homes and businesses near Prague.
On November 5th, a 4.8 magnitude quake was recorded and the next day there was a 5.7 magnitude quake, the largest in state history.
The study pointed out the wastewater injection was conducted in traditional drilling, not the polarizing process of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.
