To anyone that wants to know the real facts on the matter get on netflix and watch "The Union: Business behind getting high." This movie sounds like its just based on getting high but it tells the real facts of the matter.

For USEagle...in response to your comment about marijuana being worse then ciggarettes...please check your facts before making such a ludicrous comment.. A Few Marijuana Facts you probably did not know... Tobacco contains nicotine, and marijuana doesn't. Nicotine may harden the arteries and may be responsible for much of the heart disease caused by tobacco. Marijuana smokers generally don't chain smoke, and so they smoke less. (Marijuana is not physically addictive like tobacco.) The more potent marijuana is, the less a smoker will use at a time. Marijuana contains THC. THC is a bronchial dilator, which means it works like a cough drop and opens up your lungs, which aids clearance of smoke and dirt. Nicotine does just the opposite; it makes your lungs bunch up and makes it harder to cough anything up.

@ Helpful mind..I would like to use some of your statements on my FB page, I hope its okay with you. I think you make some great points. I wish everyone would think like you do. I have been suffering with different medical problems and smoked for 20 years. Recently had to start seeing a pain mgmnt dr and was required to do a urine test...I came back dirty..1st time and 2nd time...was told I'd lose my pain meds if dirty a 3rd time..I quit smoking that day and its been 6 mos now. Never at all does a day go by w/o me wanting and thinking of just a few hits to calm my nerves. I dont like being addicted to pills but they do help the pain. After 9 surgeries I had no where else to turn, but i feel like they are taking my freedom away buy not allowing me to smoke. I know its not legal...but come on, some people really do gain great benefits. I am here to say I am one of them...What do I have to do to help this bill move along in senate?

Why will they not have a statewide vote.... im sure if they would it would pass instead they hide all the info and you have to write letters to state senate .... Its socially acceptable to get slobbering fall down drunk, its socially acceptable to have a xanax prescription and watch these people slur words and become barely able to walk but God forbid OKlahoma allows marijuana which you can not overdose on, you will not be fall down slobbering stupid and it will help in the benefit of people with eating disorders, cancer, AIDs and other diseases like nueropathy. However w/ that said you got your church speaker who says...well that is the gateway drug...just a word or two...Alcohol is the gateway drug...marijuana is was put in soil and was given to us by the planet...alcohol was not..think about it..

@USEagle It's actually been studied quite extensively to show that Cannabis does not cause lung cancer (like tobacco) nor that it kills brain cells (like alcohol). If you were to do a bit of study on American history you would find that our forefathers grew this plant in their own backyards. the first marijuana law was one ordering farmers to GROW it. George Washington was even quoted in saying "The future of the American economy depends on the native hemp plant." That hemp plant is the plant you wish to keep illegal. The other major point to be made is until the prohibition cannabis was used as a medicine for almost anything you were suffering from and in 12000 years of written history it has never once been the direct cause of any fatality. Yet here today we spend billions on unstable and dangerous synthetic medications that kill hundreds of thousands every year. The other point for those of you who don't believe in it's medicinal value. Is that pharmaceutical companies are now producing synthetic forms of this plant that do have high toxicity levels unlike the plant they're copied from, that in itself is proof that it does have medicinal value. The reason they want you buying those instead of the real thing is simply because you can't patent a natural plant and if you can't patent it you can't control the market for it. thank you for your time.
