St. John Medical Center has been named a 2012 Consumer Choice Award Winner by the National Research Corporation.

National Research recognized St. John with a first place rank for best overall quality in physicians and nurses, as well as best reputation and image.

The National Research’s Consumer Choice Award identifies hospitals chosen by healthcare consumers as having the highest quality and image in more than 300 markets throughout the U.S. Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company’s Market Insights/Ticker survey.

"It is a true honor to be recognized by the consumers we serve for our quality care, as well as the medical excellence performed by our physicians, nurses and employees every day," said Charles Anderson, St. John Medical Center chief executive officer. “This consumer award not only validates the hard work and exceptional care we strive to provide, but it serves as an inspiration for the continued delivery of patient-centered, quality care.”

“Customer-centric care is based on the notion of extending patient-centered care to all healthcare consumers who are taking the initiative with their healthcare decisions and experiences for all healthcare participants and stakeholders,” said Susan L. Henricks, National Research president and chief operating officer. “The goal of this empowering movement and quality improvement initiatives from providers is to provide better outcomes – and create positive consumer perceptions. The Consumer Choice Awards recognizes hospitals that patients have rated as the most preferred places to receive care according to quality and image.”

St. John Medical Center offers a complete spectrum of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular, stroke, cancer, surgical, maternity, diagnostic, gastroenterology, neurosurgical, orthopedic, rehabilitative and emergency care.

St. John Medical Center was recently recognized as a top Oklahoma hospital by U.S. News and World Report.
