Retail and development in Broken Arrow continues to grow.
Sprouts Farmers Market will open a new 27,000-square foot facility at Hillside Drive and Lynn Lane.FOX23 first reported
on the development and expansion project in the area in October.
Vice president of Economic Development with the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, Warren Unsicker, said that the new grocery store will fill a void in the area
"North Broken Arrow houses about 30 percent of our population so a lot of home will utilize this store," said Unsicker, "This will really tie everything together and create a great retail corridor."
The Hillside Drive expansion project is intended to connect drivers to the Bass Pro shop and restaurants in the corridor.
Unsicker said that the grocery store will meet the needs of citizens in the area, provide more options and serve as an attraction for other businesses.
"This will anchor future developments on this site," said Unsicker.
He wouldn't reveal what stores could potentially move to the area but said that the community should anticipate more developments in the near future.
The natural and organic food store is expected to be completed by September. Ground breaking will take place within the next week.
