A Sperry man was arrested twice in one day.
Police arrested Cameron Hausner around 5 pm on February 24th at a convenience store near 66th and Memorial. Police say he and his girlfriend removed items from packaging and tried to steal them, but were stopped by security.
Police say Hausner also gave security a fake ID to avoid larceny charges. He was arrested for petty larceny and obstruction.
Police arrested him again around 4 am on the 25th near 36th Street North and Osage drive after a chase that started at 81st and Harvard. Police and troopers chased Hausner, sometimes reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour before stopping him.
He was arrested after a short struggle with a trooper and told police he ran from them because he did not want to go to prison and was on a suspended sentence. He also told police he was trying to break into the convenience store to get a red bull.
Hausner faces additional charges of 2nd degree burglary, eluding police, knowingly concealing stolen property, assault with a deadly weapon with police officer and resisting arrest.
