The Oklahoma Chapter of the Sierra Club released their legislative session summary along with a report card grading every Representative and Senator in the state on their votes impacting the environment.

The Sierra Club is the largest grassroots environmental organization in the country. It has 2.1 million members and supporters in the US and over three thousand members in Oklahoma.

In a press release the Sierra Club writes: ‘as the only environmental advocacy group with a lobbyist at the Oklahoma state capitol, it is vital to bring public awareness to the impact our state legislature has on Oklahoma's environment.’

"Many citizens tend to focus on votes and debates in Washington DC," states Chapter Director David Ocamb. "However, the state legislature is the front line of the battle to preserve and protect the environment. Votes here have a far more significant impact on Oklahoma's environment."

This legislative session was a positive for the environment and I would give the session a final grade of a B+," states Chapter Director David Ocamb.
