East 11th Street to close west of South Yale Avenue for storm sewer work on Friday night.
East 11th Street will be closed just west of South Yale Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. Friday evening, March 1, and will reopen in time for the Monday morning commute on March 4. The contractor working on a street rehabilitation project at the intersection of 11th and Yale will install a storm sewer during the street closure.
This street rehabilitation project, scheduled for completion in September, includes Vision 2025 Route 66 enhancements. These include Route 66 shields in the pavement, brick paver sidewalks on the corners, decorative fencing at the northeast and northwest corners of the intersection, a centennial clock and plaques commemorating the history of Route 66.
The City of Tulsa has contracted with Crossland Heavy Contractors for this $2.9 million project, which also includes a nearby neighborhood street and intersection. Funding for this project has come from the Vision 2025 Sales Tax and the 2008 General Obligation Bond Issue.
