Friends, family and the city of Tulsa honored a man that made it his goal to help others.
On Monday, a funeral was held for former City Councilor Roscoe Turner at the First Baptist Church in downtown Tulsa.
The service for Turner wasn't sad, but what many called a celebration.
People, including family and friends, shared the impact Turner had on them personally.
“Roscoe was a kind hearted man he knew no strangers and everyone really was his friend,” said Don Burdick, former Tulsa County Republican Chairman.
People told FOX23 they hope others will follow in his footsteps.
“I think his inspiration will be felt in the community as new folks emerge to take that role and continue to bring us all together,” said a friend.
