September is National Preparedness Month and FEMA hopes to get all Americans ready for potential disasters. FEMA is now providing a new collection of online tools and tips, called their Interactive Emergency
According to a FEMA study, most of us are not prepared. Less than half of Americans talk about what steps to take in the event of a natural disaster. This Interactive Emergency kit is a collection of online tips that includes step-by-step guidelines for how to prepare your family, emergency drills and emergency routes.
FEMA suggests for all families to do a dry run, where you and your family act out a real emergency situation. FEMA says people who participated in this type of training were 86 percent more likely to take the right actions when they actually needed to.
FEMA also suggests to download and bookmark all important safety apps and websites you may need ahead of time.
To get your online Interactive Emergency Kit visit the FEMA website.
