The sentence of a Tulsa woman who pleaded no contest to charges of abuse of children at a local daycare has been amended.
Prosecutors said Meredith Howard broke the leg of a 19-month old girl while changing her diaper at John Knox Child Development in 2010. She’s also charged with abuse that happened in 2008 while she worked at the Kirk of the Hills Mother’s Day Out program.
Howard’s pleaded no contest to the charges in November of 2012 and was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by three years of probation.
A judge amended her sentence to 14 years and one month suspended, she will be monitored by the Department of Corrections and is ordered to have no contact with minor children.
