A semi-truck getting on highway 75 from the Creek Turnpike swerved and tipped over.

According to officials on scene the truck was trying to get over and had to swerve to avoid a car.  The truck was loaded with sod and spilled part of the sod.

ODOT officials described what happened, "he had what they call a donkey on the back, which moves the sod. it came off. so, a lot of sod on the ground. we're gonna take it down as far as we can, then we're gonna wash the highway, wash it off."

Sod store owner John Easton said he's thankful the drivers were able to avoid an accident, but the loss of the truck will hurt his business, "could have been injury to someone. Yes, we're very fortunate that nobody got hurt."

Highway 75 SB was closed for a little over an hour while crews cleared the street.
