A semi-truck overturned on Highway 69 near Pryor Friday morning causing lane closures.

It happened just before 5:00 a.m. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Dustin Thornton tells FOX23 News the driver was headed northbound when he tried to swerve to miss hitting a deer. That caused the truck to go into the median, hitting mud, and overturning onto the southbound lanes.

First responders say the truck was carrying a 70,000 pound load of Pace Picante Salsa and juice. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Trooper Thornton says he doesn't believe there is anything suspicious about the accident.

One southbound lane was reopened after about an hour. Crews continued working to clean up the spilled load.
