She has not done any peer reviewed study. She has no evidence. She is basing this entirely on Fee...lings! This is a typical gimmecrat who wants kids who are not educated for math, reading, or science but will know exactly how to pay union dues.

Why do you media types always go to someone who fits people for eyeglasses for eye health questions? Why don't you go to a REAL doctor? Optometrists don't go to medical school and they don't learn medicine and surgery. They go to optometry school which is about fitting people for eyeglasses. When you have questions about this, go to an OPHTHALMOLOGIST.
