Sapulpa's Fire Marshall is investigating a house fire that happened on West Way Rd. early Wednesday morning. A captain with the Sapulpa Fire Department said when firefighters pulled up to the house around 4 am, flames were filling up the inside of it.
A few dozen firefighters worked to put out the flames for about an hour and half, before rain started pouring down on them, helping put the fire fully out. Fire Marshall, Chad Tanner, said he believes arson is the reason for the fire. He explained the homeowners, hadn't lived there for a month, but neighbors have seen people coming in and out of the home.
Firefighters said the flames started in the garage and spread throughout the home, destroying it. Now the Fire Marshall is working to find who is responsible. He said the heavy rain Wednesday morning hurts his investigation, because it's much harder to gather evidence.
