A Sand Springs teacher has resigned after being charged with 2nd degree rape involving one of her students.

27-year old Erin Kathleen Queen was arrested early Saturday morning by Tulsa Police at a local hotel. Sources say the 17-year old was staying at a friend's house but the parents went to the friends house to make sure he was there. When they couldn't find him at 4:30 am, they became concerned and called police.

That's when Queen and the student agreed to meet in Tulsa. Tulsa police found Queen and the student at the Candlewood Suites. Police say the teen was a student of Queen's at Charles Page High School in Sand Springs.

Police say the act was consensual but according to Oklahoma law it is still considered rape.  She is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
