In Sand Springs, residents can take advantage of a free 'Chipper Day' to dispose of limbs on August 3rd.

Tree limbs can be disposed of at the city's Street Division facility at 8620 W. 21st. St. from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents must take a city of Sand Springs utility bill to be admitted. No commercial firms or contractors will be allowed.

There is not a special curbside pick up of limbs in Sand Springs, but residents can bundle tree limbs and brush and place them next to their trash carts for regular collection. Those bundles cannot exceed 4 feet in length and 35 pounds in weight.  The limbs cannot be greater than 4 inches in diameter and the bundles must be tied.

For more information call the Sand Springs Public Works Department at 918-246-2588.

The City of Broken Arrow is currently picking up limbs and debris from the recent storm.

Steve Arant, Director of the Streets and Stormwater Division, anticipates the special pick-up will be in effect for the next three weeks.

Citizens needing storm debris removal are requested to do the following:

•Call the City of Broken Arrow’s Action Center – (918) 259-8373

• Place limbs and debris near the curb

•Limbs should be 8 ft. long or less

•Avoid leaving limbs near gas meter, water meter, driveway or mailboxes

In Owasso, beginning Monday, July 29, 2013 through Friday, August 2, 2013, the Public Works Department will assist City of Owasso residents with tree debris removal.

Owasso residents unable to transport tree debris to the Recycle Center can contact Public Works at (918)272-4959 to request a curbside pick-up. Residents will be required to transport the tree debris to the curbside in pieces no larger than 8’ feet in length. Only tree debris at the curbside will be collected.

In addition, the City of Owasso yardwaste disposal area has extended operation hours through Friday of this week to 7:00pm. With the continued high volume of use, the yardwaste disposal area will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
