FOX23 is learning the impact a recently reported water main break has made on a West Tulsa community, where crews are scrambling to fix yet another ruptured water line.
Our FOX23 crew is on scene with the City of Tulsa water crews as they work to repair the 16-inch water line near 23rd and Jackson.
Earlier this week water crews repaired at 6-inch line at this same location of 23rd and South Maybelle Avenue, which connects to the 16-inch line.
Currently, water crews are near 21st and Riverside to "valve down" the water-line break.
Valves on larger water lines are farther away from the initial water-line break.
After the line is "valved down," crews will begin to pump out the standing water and then start to replace the pipe joint.
Repairs are expected to be completed by Saturday.
A shopping mall at 23rd and Jackson and part of the apartment complex on 23rd Street is currently without water.
A total of 15 water lines were repaired Friday, and the water crews will continue to complete this water main break, working through Friday night into Saturday morning.
Residents can report a water-line break by calling the city at 918-596-7338.
