The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics says a Jenks police officer has died after taking a pre-employment physical fitness test.
The officer, 27-year old Juan Felipe Legarreta, will be laid to rest on July 2nd.
Mark Woodward says the officer took the test on Tuesday with a group in Oklahoma City and told the instructor he wasn’t feeling well after one of the outdoor tests.
The officer was taken to an Oklahoma City Hospital when he didn’t start feeling better. Woodward says the officer’s condition deteriorated and he passed away Wednesday morning.
The cause of death has not been determined. Officials at OBN offer their deepest condolences to the officer’s family and the Jenks Police Department.
