Tulsa police are investigating a case of road rage near a Tulsa college campus.

It happened Thursday morning off Memorial Drive and 34th Street.

Police say a man was shot at while driving with his toddler in the back seat.

It happened near the Tulsa Technology campus, that's where one of the drivers says he was verbally abused by two men who then shot his car. He said he'd never seen the men before.

"They put the car in park, they both jumped out, one came up to my driver side door and said if I roll down the window he was going to fight me and beat me up and I said no I'm good I have a 2-year-old in the car," said the man, who wanted to remain anonymous.

The driver said he was just dropping his girlfriend off at the campus when two men got out of their vehicle and taunted him.

"He was like 'Yeah, that's what I thought' and he continued to talk trash and I just kind of dusted it off I didn't roll down my window or anything," he said.

He said the altercation started when he noticed the other vehicle backing up and so he honked his horn.

"I turned left out of the campus and they kind of pulled off to the side and I went around them very fast. I didn't want any trouble with them," he said.

But as he pulled away, the situation escalated.

"As soon as I went around, the first shot went into my back window, the second shot went into my back bumper and then I don't know where the other three went," he said.

Officer Craig Murray is the traffic safety coordinator for Tulsa police. He said when it seems like you're dealing with an upset driver, it's best to try to go to a well-populated road.

"You may not realize you've done anything, maybe they just left the house, got up on the wrong side of the bed, they were running late for work, who knows whatever, try not to let them bring you into their world," said Murray.

But as glass shattered in the road, and a shell casing landed near his son's car seat, all this driver could think of was getting away. And fast.

"I have a 2-year-old, I pushed his head down and just mashed on the gas," said the driver.

He said both he and his son are all right. The boy wasn't directly hit by the gun.

Sounds like the perps need a more advanced education. About ten years in prison would show them well.

Hmm...shots fired from a Cadillac? Well that pretty much narrows down the description of the perps.
