Snow started to fall in the early morning hours in Green Country and Fox 23 talked with drivers about the road conditions overnight.

Fox 23 also contacted dispatch with Tulsa, Muskogee and Vinita Counties.

All three counties told Fox23 the roads are slick and hazardous.

Muskogee County says they worked several early morning accidents, with the majority of those accidents being on Highway 40.

Video taken with a cell phone shows the snow falling and the cold winter air blowing across the roads.

Viewers told Fox23 about slick and icy roads in East Tulsa.

We also drove the streets of North Tulsa.

One driver told Fox23 he saw several people on the road driving at excessive speeds.

“We need to start stopping a lot sooner people with big SUV’s have been flying
by they need to slow down too. Only reason we’re out is because of these
newspapers and that’s where everyone needs to stay”, said Tulsa driver Robert
Johnston.

Fox23 also learned Tulsa Police put operation slick streets into effect, which
means they only respond to accidents with injuries so they are urging drivers
to be extremely cautious.
