It's an eyesore for their neighborhood and more than that, people living in the Three Lakes II addition in Owasso say the entrance to their neighborhood is putting their safety at risk.
Neighbors tell FOX23 construction signs have been at the entrance for nearly a month. We learned the city had to tear up the street to fix a broken water line, but when they finished a bumpy mess was left behind.
Cassandra Powers-Widener is tired of dodging potholes to get into her own neighborhood.
Not only is she worried about her vehicle, she says it looks bad to others.
"In Owasso it's all about the way things look," she told FOX23. "You have find the part of the road, so you're not hitting your tire or worried about popping a tire."
Furthermore, those two problems are the least of her worries.
The neighborhood sits right 86th Street North, a busy street in Owasso, and right now it's dangerous to turn into the addition.
"When there's traffic you have to try and hurry up and get into the neighborhood, and you can't do that," Powers-Widener said.
The torn up entrance has other neighbors frustrated as well.
"It's rough driving over it. I would love for it to be fixed," Jeni Honbarrier said. "I just don't know why it's been like that for so long."
FOX23 learned of the problem when a viewer sent us a picture of the road.
The viewer is tired of seeing the city cover up the problem with gravel.
FOX23 called the city and learned the entrance is on a list of projects, and is second in line to be fixed.
Weather permitting, they hope to begin work on it in the next three to four business days.
