FOX23 got an up-close look at the rabbits rescued from a raid in Texas that are now in Tulsa. We first told you about the bust that left hundreds of the small animals without a home Monday night on FOX23 News at 10.

"They're going to be good pets, they're so quiet," said Evan Fadem, the manager at the Humane Society. But she also works closely with other humane societies.

"The SPCA of Texas had busted a bunny mill ring they had rescued over 200 bunnies and guinea pigs," said Fadem.

But they didn't have enough space or resources to keep all the new animals.

"They had more success at getting their guinea pigs adopted out than they just had so many bunnies left," said Fadem.

So she went down to pick some of them up and rabbits like Hunny Bun are just one of about a dozen that came to the Humane Society last Friday.

"This is a first for us, something new we pulled out of our hat," said Fadem.

And she said owning a bunny is like having a cat.

"They're going to need the same attention a cat would need but they also need to be able to get out of their pins and exercise in a home environment that would safe for them," said Fadem.

The Humane Society had to consult with a vet to make the right accommodations for the bunnies, making sure they and their new owners would have everything needed.

"They come with food, their cage, a water bottle and a little bit of hay," said Fadem.

The whole bunny bundle costs $25. They've been here less than a week, but so far none have been adopted.
