Rep. Sally Kern is one stupid person. What ever happen to separation of church and state? She says: “Our laws are based on the Ten Commandments. If that is true then it should be against the law to take the lords name in vain. And do not forget the Sabbath day and keep it holy. Thou shalt not commit adultery, which lots of same sex marriages end in divorce because of adultery.

To Mayor Maynot: As stated I do not expect a heterosexual man or woman to understand as you know not what it is to be born gay. You miss the point, you say suit me? There is no choice. You are born gay or not born gay. Just like being born a different race so is being born gay. I have no choice. I have come to terms with that and my God. Just making the comparison to Bestiality (horse) tells me of your ignorance on the subject.

Plenty of doubt in my mind that homosexual marriages will produce "Daddy's Little Dividend". Leads me to believe that same sex couples want the same tax incentive in real estate tax shelters as those of heterosexual couples. That does not establish equal and fair taxation because the same sex couple want to benefit from doing nothing in return. Samesex couples want something for nothing. If the laws are not about fairness and equality then what are they??

Basenji #8 ^]] you claimed that you tried to participate in heterosexual activities but that just didn't suit you. What if you discovered that you liked horses instead of humans. Would that make it ok for you to indulge in what others consider wrong?? Your decision based on what you think you might like??

Basenji #8 ^]]. So, in a homosexual union do you expect to get the same tax advantages that are applied to heterosexual couples???

We the People - includes "all" People. I feel confident stating that the greatest majority of "Gay" people throughout the world have a GOD of their understanding in their life. Many, many, many of them attend the churches of their choice. They read and study the Bible. They do an abundance of Good Work in their communities that have absolutely nothing to do with their sexual orientation. The Bible is Great - Filled with Wisdom. However, it is not, as it shouldn't be used or even referenced as a Civil Law Book - HE is the ONLY JUDGE where this topic is concerned. Matthew 7:1-5 — “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. James 4:11-12 — Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? 1 Corinthians 4:2-5 — Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

Representative Kern is correct, in that the constitution was written for the people, by the people - but I'm afraid the rest of her comments are too heavily laden with logical fallacies too ripe for dissection, here (I may in fact give these statements to my composition students to pick apart, later this semester ). The founding fathers understood the potential terror of the majority, and the government that our country founded includes multiple branches, from which our judiciary branch is (as Rep. Kern should know), responsible for measuring laws against the constitution she so readily quotes. There is also no scientific evidence (nor would there be) against the parenting of gay or lesbian men or women, and it is a shame that Kern will only listen to the biased information she wishes to hear Equally sad is that the women who were plaintiffs in the case are most likely women Kern's age, who have lived through the same eras - perhaps also being children when the courts struck down segregation laws (against popular opinion in many many states). I cannot fathom her position, and it pains me to consider her husband's remarks that she does not have a "hateful bone in her body." I am troubled by these words coming from a district representative. Unlike a previous commenter, I did strive to be "straight" and live a straight lifestyle, even getting married. Thankfully, my wife at the time became my biggest advocate in coming out and today, my fiance (a man) and I are eager to get married - and not have to move to do so!

' The amendment to the Oklahoma constitution is “an arbitrary exclusion of just one class of Oklahoma citizens from a governmental benefit. Equal protection is at the very heart of our legal system and central to our consent to be governed. It is not a scarce commodity to be meted our begrudgingly or in short portions. Therefore, the majority view in Oklahoma must give way to individual constitutional rights. The Bishop couple has been in a loving, committed relationship for many years… and want to be recognized as a married couple with all its attendant rights and responsibilities . Part A of the Oklahoma Constitutional Amendment excludes the Bishop couple, and all otherwise eligible same-sex couples, from this privilege without legally sufficient justification.”' P.67, Bishop et al. v. United States

Does Sally know about separation of church and state? Or does she just use whatever suits her needs? The 76 percent she is talking about was 9 years ago... not last week! Times are very different today. As far as the Bible we as christians are not under the old covenant anymore that all changed when the vail of the temp was rent. When Jesus died on the cross if that is how she believes... I'm not sure what Bible she is reading I use the King James Version. But that means we no longer live by the old testament but the new.... Wow maybe Sally should go back to Arkansas where she was born or maybe Texas where she went to school. Not quite sure how we got stuck with her. On thing is for sure same sex marriage will come to Oklahoma regardless of your view or my views. Just as women can now vote and slavery was abolished... this to will come to pass sooner or later it will come to the sooner state. No H8

Pity is the only response to this withered old crone's mentality of irrational hate and stupidity. She will die with a legacy of hate and ignorance and won't be missed by anyone with a functioning brain...eternally. It's just sad.
