A sex offender accused of taking pictures of children talked exclusively with FOX23 News.

Friday afternoon, we talked with the 15-year-old girls who say a man made them feel uncomfortable on their way home from school in Owasso.

Then, Friday night, FOX23 spoke with the sex offender himself, who admits to snapping pictures of the teens but says he's not doing anything illegal.

Only on FOX23 we hear both sides of the story.

We are not identifying any alleged victims or the accused man for their safety.
FOX23 digs into the story and explains why the man says he's not guilty.

He absolutely doesn't deny having a camera out or even taking pictures with it but the man says those pictures weren't of children.

With a couple of clicks of a button, chaos erupts in Owasso.

With two very different stories on what happened on the way home from school.

We first talked to the girls involved.

"Just really creepy to see some man taking a picture of us with a flash camera."

"Anyone can say anything about anyone and it can get blown out of proportion," said the man accused of taking the pictures.

After talking with the alleged victims, FOX23 wanted to talk to the man accused.

The man tells us he does yard work for a living and he says he was working at a house near 77th Street North and 145th East Avenue in Owasso Thursday afternoon.

FOX23 asks, "So you're not saying you didn't have a camera out."

The man replied,
"No. I had a camera. Because I have to take pictures of my job…before-and-after pictures. So I had a camera out, but I didn't ever aim it at a child or take a picture ever….ever."

But three young girls say the pictures made them feel uncomfortable.

That's why a mom took action.

"I drove down there. I made eye contact with the person, stared him down, got his license plate number and went ahead and came home and called police," said one girl's parent.

Owasso police tell FOX23 they are investigating but that the man didn't break the law.

Still, the investigation has caused quite a frenzy for Owasso parents.

"My wife and I have talked about coming to get the girls. We don't live very far away and they usually walk, but we don't want to take a chance," said Eddie Dills.

"I have a daughter in the eighth-grade center and I'd be a little freaked out if she told me that happened to her, 'cause she walks," said Owasso parent Michelle Robb.

The accused man tells FOX23 he hates that this has become a problem but that he has no hard feelings.

Take a look here and see who is on the list near your home or where the kids spend time.

Apparently the kids and parents knew he was a sex offender (being a small town) so that in itself might be the heart of this whole affair.
