Three armed robberies in 24 hours, and police say they don't believe any are connected.

FOX23 talked with one of the victims, a man who was beat by thieves Monday morning.

Roberto Brambila told FOX23 he was attacked. He says two men came out of nowhere and surrounded him.

FOX23 got a look at the surveillance video of the incident.

"They hit me with a pistol," Brambila told FOX23.

Brambila doesn't speak a lot of English, but he did tell us he was washing his car at Tiffany's Hog Wash Monday morning when he was caught between two people he didn't know.

Brambila says the pistol whipping sent him to the ground.

When we asked what the robbers wanted, Brambila told us his wallet and money.

When they got that, Brambila said they ran away.

He wasn't the only person targeted recently.

Police tell FOX23 they responded to two other armed robbery calls in a 24-hour period, one at the Walgreen's near 51st and Lewis, the other at the Walgreens near 46th Street North and Peoria.

Corporal Jarrod Hart tells FOX23 three armed robberies in a 24-hour period is more than usual, but it's not completely out of the ordinary.

"I think a lot of crimes go in spurts," Cpl. Hart said.

Police call armed robberies crimes of opportunity.

"People not paying attention to their surroundings. The bad guys are driving up and noticing an easy target, and then they're jumping out and performing the armed robberies."

Hart told FOX23 the thieves will hit as many targets as they can before getting caught.

Police say it's always important to be aware of your surroundings even in places you feel safe.

When you find them shoot. When you shoot shoot to kill. That should help fix overcrowding in our jails and penal institutions.
