A teenage student is accused of sexually assaulting a girl on campus at Muskogee High School but there have been no arrests.
Muskogee police told FOX23 News a 14-year-old girl who is a student reported another student, a 15-year-old boy raped her on campus on Monday.
"That's just shocking here," said Kayley Lewis.
She is a former student and but also says she is a second parent to a MHS student.
Police said around 1 p.m. on Monday the alleged victim reported the allegations to campus police. Since this was a major investigation the case was handed over to Muskogee police.
Investigators told FOX23 News they don't know the extent of the students relationship but said the they knew each other and believe this is an isolated incident.
"We want to assure the parents of the kids that they are safe," said Muskogee Police Cpl. Michael Mahan.
MHS spokesperson and Director of Secondary Education Melony Carey said she wants to assure parents the school is safe and so are children.
She said the case is still under investigation and she did not know if the suspect was allowed on campus during the investigation.
"Security has been really enforced to the max," said Lewis.
While the case is under investigation police did not want to release where the alleged attack happened on campus.
Students tell FOX23 News they were not allowed in the gym by the C-Unit on Tuesday.
"There is not really anywhere on campus that is secluded that could happen on this campus," said Lewis.
Investigators want to hear from any witnesses and are waiting to on results from physical evidence.
"Wow that is tragic, if that did happen so tragic," said Lewis.
Once police gather more information and evidence, they said they would forward it to the Muskogee County district attorney who will review the case and decide if charges will be filed.
