FOX23 has new information on the Pryor couple killed in a plane crash. Ivan and Adina Williams died in small plane crash in Arkansas.
Tuesday evening, FOX23 learned their death is being felt across Pryor.
With tears in his eyes, Roy Hamill talked about Ivan Williams.
"He was everything to everybody," Hamill said. "He was a just a good fellow."
Ivan was a friend he'd heard only hours earlier, he'd never see again.
"He always had a smile for you. It didn't make a difference when it was, he always had a smile and was glad to see you," Hamill said. "He was an easy going guy, a good guy."
Hamill's trucking company sits next to Williams' construction company. They had been neighbors there for 10 years, but friends long before. Hamill said they struck up a friendship about 50 years ago.
"I don't know when I haven't known him. I've just always known him," he told FOX23.
Hamill isn't the only one. Ivan and his wife Adina were well-known by everyone in the Pryor community for their good deeds.
Mayor Jimmy Tramel is still trying to come to terms with the loss.
"It's a travesty. It's heart wrenching to lose such pillars to the community," Tramel said. "They've touched so many different lives and so many different things. It's amazing."
Tramel told FOX23 that Williams was a driving force in making the local recreation center a reality. He and his wife also funded Centennial Park in Pryor.
The Civil Air Patrol said Ivan was flying him and Adina back to Claremore when the plane crashed near Huntsville, Ark.
While they are gone, both men FOX23 spoke with said their spirit will live on.
"When you go to Centennial Park, you'll think of Ivan Williams. When you go to the recreation center, you'll think of Ivan Williams. When you go to the Lion's Club, you'll think of Ivan Williams," Tramel said.
"He'll be remembered for a long time," Hamill added. "I know that he won't be forgotten."
So far there is no official word on what brought the plane down or when there will be memorial services.
