A Union High School student faces a felony charge of child porn after he took a picture of a special needs student in the bathroom and posted that photo to Twitter.

We first told you about this Wednesday night on FOX23 News at 9.  The student is accused of taking that photo with his cell phone.

Jonathan DeVito is also being held on Peeping Tom and computer crimes complaints.

Because of the power of a cell phone, two young lives are now changed forever.
That’s why it’s so important to teach your children about electronic bullying.

Paul Meuniot is the proud father of four children and like most parents his kids wanted a cell phone. So he and his wife agreed.

“Just to stay in touch because as busy parents when picking them up from school and what not, it's just easier to get a hold of them,” says Meuniot.

When he heard that an 18-year-old is accused of taking a photo of another student in the bathroom and then posting it to social media, his heart broke.

"My heart goes out to both families really. The handicap person's whose photo was taken. Their family is going through tremendous heartache over that, and also the young man that took that picture,” says Meuniot.

To protect his family, he and his wife take their children’s cell phones at night. They also talk regularly with their kids about using cell phones properly.

"I definitely talked to them about the importance of what you're posting on facebook, Twitter, social media, and what kinds of things you're texting,” he says.

Jason Weis with Stop Child Trafficking Now says this latest cyber-bullying incident needs to be a wake-up call for parents.

"This was obviously a dumb mistake by this individual - and now he is going to be labeled for the rest of his life,” says Weis.

“This picture that he took of this poor child in the restroom is out there forever,” Weis says.

Weis recommends that parents sit down with their children before they buy them a cell phone.  He says it’s important to know what’s on your child’s phone and also the password.  It’s a good idea to confiscate your children’s phones at night after they go to bed.  Talk to your child about the capabilities of the phone and what it should only be used for.

Parents can also call their carrier and request that their children’s phone not be allowed to send or receive pictures. There is even software available called SpyBubble and Mobile Spy that can monitor your child on their cell phone.

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office is arrested Jonathan DeVito for child pornography, distributing child pornography, computer crimes and electronic Peeping Tom.
