Tulsa Promenade Mall has a new owner.
Retail holder, Mike Kohen announced the purchase of the mall at 41st and Yale. The sale was finalized on Friday, June 28, 2013.
Kohen said he plans to launch an aggressive leasing initiative to enhance the retail mix of Tulsa Promenade Mall with additional national and local tenants.
“Tulsa Promenade Mall is a productive center with a strong tenant mix. We’d like to build upon this mix. We see the strategic location as a huge asset for retailers looking to expand. We plan to reach out to these retailers and show them the value of Tulsa Promenade Mall,” said Mike Kohen, CEO Tulsa Promenade Realty Management, LLC. “We are excited to be a part of the Tulsa community and look forward to continuing the strong relationships we have with many of the areas non-profits and schools through our many community events. We plan to bring a vibrancy to the mall with new tenants and renovations. The mall is an icon in the Tulsa community, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the businesses and people of Tulsa.”
Tulsa Promenade Mall was originally built in 1965 as an outdoor center named Southland. The structure was enclosed in 1987 and re-named Tulsa Promenade Mall. The center will celebrate 50 years of serving the Tulsa community in 2015. “With over 100 million dollars in annual retail sales from Tulsa Promenade tenants, we are excited to remain a vital part of Tulsa retail,” said Sheila Cooper, General Manager, Tulsa Promenade Realty Management, LLC.
The 927,000 square foot shopping center is anchored by Dillard's, Macy’s, and JCPenney, and home to over 100 specialty stores and restaurants including Express, Buckle, American Eagle, Things Remembered, Hot Topic, El Chico Restaurant, and Aeropostale. In addition, the mall has a 12-screen Regal Promenade Palace Theatre and a state of the art fitness center, Sky Fitness & Well Being.
