only see on FOX 23, an investigation is just beginning into a high school principal’s actions in Green Country. There are accusations tonight that this principal is spending too much time in the boys’ locker room. This is happening at Sperry High School at 4
th St and Main in Sperry, Oklahoma. FOX 23’s Kaci Christian joins us now with the latest on this developing story. Kaci—students wrote a letter to school officials?
“Sperry parents tell me that letter—signed by several students—said that principal Timothy Howard Weaver’s lingering in the boy’s locker room made students feel uncomfortable,” reports FOX 23’s Kaci Christian.
“Why do we have someone like this in our school?” asks Karen Teel, a native of Sperry, and a concerned parent. “How do we get them?”
Teel is concerned by allegations of impropriety against Sperry High principal Timothy Howard Weaver.
“I think they should investigate all aspects of it,” says Teel. “I think the previous school, I don’t know how that would play into it. I think that should play a part of it. I think our attorney needs to be consulted.”
At his last job, as the middle school principal in Valliant, Oklahoma, a rural area located five miles from the Texas border and 20 miles from the Arkansas border, Weaver’s initial two-year contract, which ran from fall 2006 through spring 2008, was not renewed.
A school board member there confirms Weaver was placed on “paid administrative leave” for the last four months of that contract.
That same board member says civil lawsuits relating to Weaver were settled out of court.
