Cliff Guffey, President of the American Postal Workers Union, said, "We're trying to wake up Americans to let them know they're next."
Some held signs and others made creative shirts with slogans. Their hope is to save the jobs of postal workers and American Airlines' mechanics.
Bobbi Smith, Postal Worker, said, "They depend on us, they rely on us."
Though its not definite, American Airlines could move 230 airline mechanics jobs to Dallas.
The US Postal Service wants to cut jobs and close facilities to save millions. One of those is a Tulsa sorting plant that employs 573 people. One of those jobs belongs to 32-year postal employee Frank Pyles.
Frank Pyles, Postal Worker, said, "I'm a ten point disabled Vietnam veteran and that's a slap in the face."
He added, "They think they have it bad now, it will be ten times worse and a lot more money."
For Bobbi Smith the news is double trouble.
Smith said, "My husband works for American Airlines so we're double whammied."
She added, "Yeah but I have faith."
Now they just hope the right people, like Congressman John Sullivan, are listening.
Smith said, "Support 1351. We need it for Tulsa."
Pyles said, "I'd tell him to support Bill 1351 and put a yes vote on there."
On Thursday night, Tulsa city council approved a resolution supporting the postal service and its employees. They're also wanting local postal officials to get together with them to discuss ways to keep these jobs and distribution center.
