Broken Arrow police say arrested a man they said threatened a homeowner with a butcher knife.
Police say around 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon Michael Tanner Lank wore a ski mask and broke into a home in the 800 block of Lynnwood Lane and threatened an 84-year old man with a butcher knife.
Police said the man started taking items of value from the home and knocked down the man’s wife when she arrived home. Neither was seriously injured.
FOX23 spoke with the grand-son of the victims, Adam Akins. Adam said that it has been a difficult 48 hours for the family.
"It's scary because they are the rock of our family," said Adam.
Adam said that his grandparents suffered bruises but he was grateful that was the extent of their injury.
"The type of person who would do this someone else, it just makes me sick," said Adam.
The family also turned to social media and posted a description of the suspects vehicle on Facebook. The post received numerous shares and 'likes'.
Adam told FOX23 that his grandparents are still shaken but have a positive spirit.
Lank was arrested on Wednesday by Tulsa police on a separate charge and found with items from the home in his possession.
