Police are investigating what happened in Tulsa’s third homicide this year -- and investigators aren't sure they will file any charges.
Police say 22-year-old DeAndre Simon turned himself in for shooting Michael Lyke just after noon on Sunday near Oklahoma place and north wheeling avenue.
FOX 23 looked through Simon’s criminal history we found that back in 2009 he pleaded guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. But police said he's just a person of interest and not a suspect in the shooting.
Officers said Michael Lyke came to DeAndre Simon’s apartment. The two got in a fight and Simon ended up shooting Lyke. When police got on the scene, officers said Simon admitted to pulling the trigger saying that Lyke also had a gun.
Police said that Lyke witnessed a murder back in February of last year and they said he also killed and shot a man in June. That shooting is still under investigation.
Police are only calling DeAndre Simon a person of interest and this case will now be handed off to the district attorney's office.
