Tulsa police say have identified a suspect in custody after an incident that they say started as a home invasion and armed robbery.
Police say 54-year old Sheila Wright was shot and taken to a hospital before being booked.
The incident started as a home in the 500 block of E. 47th street.
Officers say the homeowner called 911 to tell them a woman kicked down her door and walked in her home armed with a gun. TPD is unsure if anything was taken but the homeowner gave a good description of the suspect to police.
Two officers in a patrol car pulled her over at 3700 N. Peoria. She pulled over at first, but police say at some point officers saw a gun and felt threatened and fired at least one round into the vehicle. Police say the woman then drove away and pulled into a driveway near St. Louis & 28th St. N.
Officers surrounded the Black Escalade she was driving and asked her repeatedly to come out and she wouldn't. Police fired pepper balls into the truck, but she did not come out.
Officers evacuated the home by the driveway the Escalade was pulled up to and took two adults and two children out.
Police said neighbors heard her screaming and officers say she had been shot at least once. Officers eventually felt safe enough to walk up and take her into custody.
Police said she was taken by EMSA to the hospital to be treated and then will be booked.
