A police chase ended with a crash and running pursuit Wednesday in north Tulsa.
It started on the 5800 block of East King Place and ended across the highway near the 6900 block of East Admiral.
Police told FOX23 they got more than they bargained for when they found stolen property inside of the stolen vehicle.
“So, it was just in like in like 2 or 3 minutes time it was gone, it was stolen,” the car’s owner, Regina Williams told FOX23. “I had started my car about 7:23 this morning…walked in the house I told my kids lets go the car had been started lets go ahead and lets drop you guys off at school.”
But her kids ended up late to school, and her daughter stayed with her while she called police.
“Good news is I got my car keys back and my other car keys, the bad news is my car is wrecked,” said Williams.
Police said it's a good thing she had a GPS system. They quickly tracked the car and the chase was on.
Police told FOX23 they also found a stolen TV inside the car and think it had been stolen from a nearby home.
The crash didn’t end the chase, police said the man ran across I-244, caused some problems there and ran to a nearby store before surrendering.
No one was injured but, Williams is still worried.
“I just put money into this car, I put over 30-something hundred dollars into this transmission and I don't know if its totaled or not,” said Williams.
Police told FOX23, despite colder temperatures it is not a good idea to leave vehicles running while unattended.
