Authorities have cleared the scene of an accident following a police pursuit on I-44 near 193rd East Avenue.

Police say the chase started near I-244 and Lewis when an officer spotted a driver swerving on the highway. Police say the driver refused to pull over.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol assisted in the chase and deployed a stop stick to end it.

Police say speeds never reached more than 70 miles per hour.

The man is in custody at the hospital.

When you decide to chase someone, they run faster. How hard is that to comprehend?

Unwashed Mass (aka Dirty Sermon) The method of stop was selected by the criminal NOT the police. In an effort to protect the public from recklessly wrong drivers officers MUST do something. If the police allowed that driver to hit you then YOU would lament a whole different refrain #8 ^]]
