Broken Arrow police believe two men arrested during a police chase Thursday night are connected to a car burglary ring.

Officers arrested Anthony Ruiz and Masimiliano Barreto.

Police told FOX23 they found a stolen handgun and a laptop inside the getaway car, which possibly links the suspects to a string of crimes near 71st Street and Lynn Lane.

Cpl. Leon Calhoun said the investigation into who was behind this crime ring has been going on for months.

"It's frustrating when we get called out to the same area maybe several times a week," said Calhoun.

Calhoun told FOX23 what was happening in Broken Arrow, was also happening in Tulsa. But now, the mystery may be over after the arrests Thursday night.

"We definitely believe that these two were involved in many burglaries in Broken Arrow," Calhoun said.

BAPD told FOX23 the suspects broke into a truck and stole a handgun Thursday night.

A witness reported it to police and when an officer tried to pull over Ruiz and Barreto over, they took off down the Broken Arrow Expressway.

Police arrested them near 21st Street and Garnett Road in Tulsa.

"There was already an investigation going on and this just kind of confirmed who our suspects may be," Calhoun said.
