Monday’s tornado destroyed the Plaza Towers School in Moore, killing seven children.
FOX23’s Sharon Phillips spoke with a 3rd grader who misses her.
Phillips ran into Emily Stephens when she visited the school on Friday. Emily’s father gave her permission to share her story with FOX23.
Gregory Fowler lives right across the street from the school. He said even now, he can still hear their screams.
“They were screaming and there were teachers yelling get over here, there are children trapped,” said Fowler.
His daughter, Emily, was a 3rd grader at Plaza Towers Elementary. She had just checked out of class right before the tornado hit and wasn’t there.
But like her school, she now has a huge hole in her heart.
“It makes me really sad because they were my best friends, and they just died from this tornado. I knew a lot of them. They were mostly 3rd graders,” she said.
With her family by her side, she said a final goodbye to the school and classmates she loved so much.
